The First Laser

Due to the intensely short pulse time and form factor I think we estimated it somewhere around 1kW or so. It is just a pulsed SSY-1 Nd:YAG unit made into a handheld format.

Very cool. A man portable Nd:YAG laser. Was it difficult to figure out the power supply? Capacitors maybe?

I remember it now, thanks to Sig. Just watched the vid again. 1 MW is still a lot! :eek: can punch holes in thin metal :)
