The amazing 322mW Dilda

All you would need to do to almost guarantee that the DX200 puts out
200mW is to use 3.6volt cells instead of the 3volt CR2s. :)

At 7.2Volts this weak Dilda is putting out 211mW @370ma. :-?

At 6Volts it puts out 150mW @ 280ma. ::)

322mW from a Dilda is AWESOME!
Good work!

Was going to try pushing mine to 300 last night but ran out of trim pot adjustment at 275mW, but it works fine at that level so far. Who needs OC LDs when you have "Dilda"?

I plugged mine in to the dryer 220 volt recepticle last night and wow you should have seen the beam

Just Kidding its powerfull enough stock

What trimpot adjustment.... :-?

All I did was input a higher Battery Input voltage to the existing Dilda Driver. :)
I have not even touched the pot on the PCB... ;)

Excellent! ;D How can anyone resist a laser enlarger?

You just inspired me to make a 2 x CR123 dilda style laser this weekend! Should be fun. Maybe I'll anodize it red, too.

ROFL.....LOL....ROFL... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Well, last night I stated that I would make a 2 x CR123 dilda. Today, I dutifully went to the machine shop and fired up a lathe. I have machined all of the parts for the new "dilda viagra" and will return to the machine shop this evening to anodize the completed parts, and bring them home to assemble the finished laser. Once complete, I will post details of the build and photos in a new thread.

Thank you to thesk8nmidget for coming up with a great name, and Artix for that inspiring attachment, these two things made me want to build another red laser.

Sorry, about the delay, forgot to mention I used my own DIY driver. Have pushed it to 303mW - then I chickened out!

I tested mine again today and it's still above 320mw... 8-)

I assume your 303mw is with the original Dilda LD :-?

Does your DIY Driver get hot ?? What was your duty cycle ??

How much voltage and current are you pumping into your driver :-?

Most of the answers are in my last post on the following link. The driver itself is a switcher and does not dissipate much heat. It does not get anywhere near as warm as the original driver, which seems to be a linear type.

I am using the original LD also. I left it On at about 300mW for 2 min or so at a time during testing but that was about it.
