as before, these are red laser pointers a little over 2" long that operate on lr44 batteries. (I include 6) Shipped these babies are $55 anywhere. *I have seen them get as high as 300mw with a 10180 battery. I have 0 of these hosts ready to go.

Why thank you kind sir!

Twist to turn on? What diode is in it?

Re: Teenie burners 120mw + red laser pointers $55

Wow, those are tiny little things!  Do you think these would fit a 10220 battery?  And how easy are they to disassemble for diode replacement and whatnot?

Oh and how are they being pushed? Flexdrive?

Re: Teenie burners 120mw + red laser pointers $55

hay noob question  :) so if you wanted to, would you be able to put a green diode or blue ray 1 in there?... lol

There is no such thing as a Green Laser Diode... Yet... :'(
The green lasers are DPSS lasers... 8-)
You can read up on them right here on LPF or Google.....
Here is a link to some future Green LD technology....

ty :D so would you be able to put a blue ray 1 in there then?

Re: Teenie burners 120mw + red laser pointers $55

Ok lets answer the questions.
1. Yes it twists to operate.
2. it's direct driven so there is NO DRIVER.
3. They are extremely easy to dissasemble for diode replacement.
4. I honestly don't know if they will take a 10220 but I seriously doubt it.
5. there are green diodes but they are thousands of dollars each. As laserbee said they mostly come in dpss. (at least I've heard rumors that true green diodes exist)
6. I have not tested this with a bluray as of yet and have been meaning to. One of these days I'll try it. but it's my guess that it won't work. (I have been wrong though)

Re: Teenie burners 120mw + red laser pointers $55

Directly driven? I didn't think that was possible. Weird.

Re: Teenie burners 120mw + red laser pointers $55

off of button cell batteries you bet. They just dont' have enough ooomphf to drive an open can that hot. they push the open can to about 130mw max. While it's not a soooper red laser, it is one that you can throw on your keychain and ALWAYS have a burner with ya.

Re: Teenie burners 120mw + red laser pointers $55

I bet with the new flexdrives you could fit one in there no problem and use a 10180 ;)

NOPE! Oh I'm sure you could get a flex to fit in there if you wanted the module to poke way the hell out front, or wanted to drill the tailcap so that there's more room there but honestly, the doggone lasers work perfectly fine as is and don't need regulation. Even if you could get it to pump out 200+mw there just isnt' enough heatsinking to provide adequte runtime with these. They are designed as a take it with you and always have a burner burner. Not a lets see how much mighty power we can get out of this teenie host. If you really want the more bang for your buck, get the 10180 and discharge it a bit prior to inserting them in. then pow! you've got 300mw in a teenie host that you can take everywhere. Just be prepared to replace the diode when you kill it from not discharging the battery enough.
