Has anyone tried these techhood eBay combine/reflect optics? They are insanely cheap and not sure exactly how well they would work.. trying to source some budget parts for my mock-up testing or my RG:Y combiner I have some LPC-826 I'm gonna either combine them or run a single with low mw green to get the yellow hue I want and scale up.

Plan to do the mockup and then test the single beams before optics with my LPM and then decide which diodes I want to use to scale up.

If you know of an alternative to these at a reasonable price I'll listen surely. If these can be used up toward 1w of red for the upscale later that would be great to.. not sure if these are really considered dichroic or not, as he's not offering much info.

RG:Y build? My ears are perking up! More info please, can't wait to see it. I assume this is going to be handheld? Which Green?

Haven't used them myself, they'll probably be a bit less efficient than the good quality/high price dichros but see no reason why they wouldn't work.

Have a link to them?

Me too. RGB to white is the cats meow and bees knees

Especially when you get the beam diameters and divergences matched. Then it's just a matter of getting that perfect colour balance - although some people like "different" whites (colour temperature is probably the way to describe that best). I personally like a real crisp, vibrant white.

Look at this on eBay RGB System Optics/Reflect Red and Pass Green Laser lens/15x15mm 2pcs

Eventually yes it would go handheld but I prefer to do my testing and mock up tests in a standard setup. This way I can figure out what alignment angles, powers and other specs I will need. I figure if I get close to the color I want, I can just scale power up and maintain a lot of the original tests. I will have to account for small changes in wavelength with current increase but that can come later. I may even utilize those wossee drivers to keep it adjustable color.

Also not sure what green it would scale up to nut I will be testing with a DPSS 532 and a 520nm direct diode as well as a 515nm direct diode to see how it goes. I'm sure higher wavelength of green will arrive to yellow easier hence the use of a DPSS module..

I haven't used those dichros above, but I expect they're probably decent, just as those polarized beam cubes that are sold from China. The latter have pretty good specs for their price. With laser power being what it is, the ability to correct the red laser's beam profile seems to be the real limitation these days.

Thanks guys.

At this stage I think the beam specs on an LPC-826 (or 836-846) are acceptable seeing them through an acrylic.

If the later has beam issues ill just have to slap some correction optics on the red side. It would be verging away from handheld at this point in my opinion.

Please go with handheld! (I'm being selfish)

I look forward to whatever you decide with though. Please post the results with the multiple green options.
My goal is to find a decent 638nm and combine it with the 510nm osram and see if I can get a yellow out of it. That would give me the red that I love and the more rare greenish. And hopefully a yellow.

Speaking of Chinese PBS cubes, so far, every time I ask for a manufactures PN, or at least specifications for 1064nm cubes, they have nil. Due to that I haven't bought any yet but only looking on eBay.

Perhaps a stupid question but I bought the reflect red/pass green dichro pack and one of these:

Lens-Base-Holder-Mounter-RGB-Optical-Combination-RGB-Laser-Beam-Adjustor

Anyway I just received it all and while everything looks good I just realized that I dont know how i'm supposed to attach the dichro to the holder. I'm assuming some sort of adhesive but I haven't a clue when the best practices are for doing this. Has anyone done this sort of thing before?

I'll report back on how the mirrors work once i've had a chance to set up a clean space to try them out.

Regular epoxy is fine. Do NOT use superglue, and be cautious with other solvent based adhesives, as the solvent may cloud or ruin the glass.
