TEC mag 445nm "The FireFarter"

Wow talk about micro surgery!

So you don't have any holes in the host, the fan just blows the internal air around the case?

EDIT sorry just looked at the photos again, missed the holes first time I looked!

These holes are behind the fan they meet up with holes that are drilled vertical which in turn meet he smaller diameter chamfered holes around the switch, you can feel the hot air comming out of them. I wish I had one of those thermal guns to do some testing on. If I ever do I will spend some time testing the unit for sure.

It would be interesting to measure the temperature difference between the two halves of the TEC to see how hard it's working. The X drivers are just paralleled and the TEC is obviously happy at 7.4 to 8.4 volts?

In the OP, I stated the TEC is driven off of one of the X-drives at 1.1A this was where I felt after a touch and see secession that the peltier was it's happiest. I was worried about the dreaded condensation effect and after asking and reading I felt that a more room temp. 24°C was the way to go instead of chilling.

I'm perfectly fine with a 5min. run time with 9mm diode driven at 2A & 2 drivers reaching a tic above ambient temp. but without a gauge who knows not very scientific, but fun stuff.

Sorry you might have stated it earlier, but seeing as you are using those newer 9mm diodes, what current did you settle with in the end
and what kind of output were you able to get. Curious about these 9mm diodes... getting close to my Birthday..2 months away... looking at a new laser.
I'm taking a guess that you've got it running 3W to spit flame like that?
Sorry if this is redundant...

I'm just very very curious.

Well early happy birthday. This build is still running strong I have since added stickers and a sweet focus ring. This unit topped my meter out very fast I don't want to go thru the wi hole filter bit. I'm running it at 2A with and X drive. If you look close the drivers are also being cooled using the peltier. The heatsink has a groove kinda like a fishing reel the peltier is under the area the drivers are on.

I just used this machine the other day to smoke a hole in some fiberboard. ThanX.

Wow!!! In any case, you've got yourself quite a beast there.
What is the output may I ask.
