The lasers were the ONLY good thing about halftime.

Well, other than when halftime was over.

Maybe it's just me, but The Who sucked big-time.

Relaying from PL:

i got wind of an "unofficial" inventory list of lasers used:

(2) Arctos 20W RGB
(6) Arctos 8-10W RGB
(4) 40W LaserScopes

Over a million dollars in lasers!!!

-Marc

Yeah [Arctos is solid state]. Red at either 650 nm or 640 nm. Green at 532 nm, and blue at 445 nm. Almost all of their projectors have huge multi-diode arrays in them. Optical paths are quite involved, but the results are stunning. Here's a pic under the hood of one:

Only problem is that they are *really* expensive. But if you're in the market, Lightwave International is the sole US distributor. (And yeah, they are the guys that pulled off the Pink Floyd: Dark Side of the Moon album cover "laser pyramid" effect...)

Do you have a link to that PL thread?

Also, any idea how those red banks work?
