No ants can't get cancer.Their naturally selective device is simpler than that The weak ones are probably just killed or die on their own because they can't keep up, or they don't have weak ones ...or something like that .They die from a 150mW with a 3mm beam anyway.
The sun is NOT a laser.Magnifying glasses are not lasers.And sun-rays are not coherent.If they were you could focus it on a really tiny spot, like you can with a laser.And would probably look really speckly like a laser dot does, which would be annoying.If the focused dot wouldn't be too bright for your eyes, you would see that it is actually a tiny projection of the sun itself on the ground.Try focusing a light bulb on a wall like you would try to burn the wall with the lens using the light from the bulb, it will probably surprize you. :
