Hi everyone! I'm back after a few months of neglecting LPF. :yabbem: I've been having some problems with my electric bass pickup, and I figured I'd ask the most electronically knowledgeable group of people I know. I'm playing in the pit for a musical, and every time certain stage lights come on, I get a lot of static out of my amp. All of the static is in the mid range (when I turn mid all the way down on the amp, it goes away). I'm sitting around 10 feet away from these lights, but the problem persists when I'm sitting 20 feet away.
When I turn both of my pickups all the way off, the static goes away (but so does my sound). When I have my bottom pickup turned off but my top pickup all the way on, the buzz cuts in half. When I have the bottom on and the top off, the buzz is still completely there. :thinking: This leads me to think that the problem may be partially in the lower pickup and partially in something else in the bass that is deactivated when both of the pickups are off.
It's an Ibanez GSR206 Gio 6 string. I just got it a week ago, so if it is a problem that could be fixed by getting a different bass, then I could probably still replace it. Might anyone have any idea what could be the problem?
