Spyder III Arctic or 1w 445 laser from Dinodirect

Yea ware ur goggles! Haha krogith sorry

But seriously 1W of 445 is gonna be worse than 50mW of green or 300mW of red.

If your using any 5 mW laser or more you need goggles for that nm and mW. Reflection off a white surface can damage your eyes. Even if a laser is not bright enough for you to strain doesn't mean it can't hurt you, It can. And if a laser is bright enough for your eyes to strain it Can and possibly is hurting your eyes. If when you 1st start using a laser your eyes strain and then you keep doing it soon your eyes wont strain and that is because you have fried the sensors already.

Ware Goggle and protect your eyes please you guys.

I know, I'm just trying to point out that some people may be more sensitive to the light than others. I have a 1mW red that my family uses as a cat/dog toy and my mom is bothered by the dim dot even in a brightly lit room. If what I originally said sounded like or insinuated that goggles aren't necessary then I can edit that post.

No sorry. I didn't mean I was attacking you. I was just making sure new one didn't get the idea that maybe there cool with out em.

Safety 1st is all I was thinking. Sorry if I sounded like I was attacking you. I word things funny people tell me :yabbem:

Haha same here; and btw you didn't really seem attacking. it's all cool.

So what is the best color for star pointing. I know green isn't the best because it ruins your night visibility. Then you have to close your eyes for a few minutes to get your night visibility back.

@david1235102 Cool :beer:

Personally i like my 12X it's doing 560mW on 420mA. What type of budget you thinking of spending tho?

actually, im pretty sure green is the best for star pointing..... it definitely "goes farther in the sky" than any other laser I have, or at least it seems that way.

Dude, here's what you really SHOULD DO. ANd this is just a suggestion, grab you a 50mW, maybe even a 100mW green. PLay with it outside at night, point it in the sky, find a mountain. IT'll blow your friggin mind dude.

Blue is much easier on your night vision, a 500mW or even 1W of 445nm would make an awesome starpointer without messing much with your night vision.
But seriously, you could just get a 5-10mW greenie, it has a visible beam at night,
but it's dim enough not to mess with your low light adaptation either.

Oh god, you make me scared. I was using my <100mW Super Beast #100 006 and my eyes felt like straining after when i looked back to my laptop. I'll start going overkill with my LSG's now..
