I don't consider this a stability issue.

You're freaking kidding..right?!?!?!

Big bucks for a laser that drops 4/5s in power after the first minute, and that's not a stability issue?

You guys must be doing some really good drugs.

The thing is, it's a hand held laser with a single 18650!

I would like to see what the current draw is at that power! Especially since there is also a TEC installed that is taking some current as well...

Personally, I would love it if I could get even 90 seconds of stable power after maybe a 30 second warm up...

I mean, what can you expect from a single battery at that kind of power, with a TEC on top of it?

I wouldn't expect any more, but saying its not a stability issue is BS. That's the main issue IMO. The design is obviously flawed.

cause god forbid a handheld unit with a multi-watt pump diode and TEC wouldn't fluctuate... Who cares if it jumps, 99% of the time you wouldn't even be able to notice at those power levels. Plus, they're probably going to make it better in the new design.

WL doesn't like it either...

And from what I understand, they are working to improve the performance! :)

I have not gotten news from him lately, im getting worried. I know he had health issue in the past...
The last time i heard was in december and they were improving the units.

As I posted, from a cold start, my laser would hold ~ 650 mW for a 90 second run. That's as far as I pushed it. Numerous 20 second runs without some cooling time would overheat it in 15 minutes. A cooling period of about 15 minutes seemed to restore it to full power. I don't think this is asking much from a portable. BUT -- It came on full power -- No warm-up. Nice

DLMB -- I just sent an emule about 30 minutes ago. It's too early there.

By the way---- What good is a warm-up period with a portable? With a labbie, that's acceptable but with cells, I want power now. That's what I had but returned :-(
