Good try:) Well it looks like you answered your own question and I see what you are saying... I have a three motor spiro with three pots and try as I may I cannot get a different pattern by adjusting the first one, admittedly they are computer fans and the speed does not alter that much.
Anyway for the cost of the extra pot, and if you have the room, you may as well fit it.

I didn't asked this xD My questions are at the first post. Have you tried to run them at higher voltages?

Have you tried to run them at higher voltages

They are prone to vibration at higher voltages/speeds which makes them noisy. All my spiros run at 1.5v ... except the fliptop spiro which runs at 3.6v and is very noisy :)

mm Ok, well since I'm gonna use 3 motors in parallelI think I'm gonna use 3V or I'm gonna have problems to run them all at high speed :P

any ideas on where to place the project? what are exactly those boxes that you guys get from that shop called radioshack?

Yours,
Albert

anyone know where to get one of these boxes out of usa?

Thnaks, but for the price I think im gonna stick with the tuperware xD

In first link price is unacceptable.
$25 are 3 mirrors for spirograph project that used to be cheap project.
At the same time I'm working on spirograph and RGV laser project.
I don't have extra money for expensive mirrors.

In second link shipping supports only UK.
I live in Bosnia and shipping is major problem.

I've found these mirrors on e-bay.

Looks like perfect for spirograph project.
Even cheaper than cutting it yourself. (if I include shipping to Bosnia)

What do you think about size.
2mm or 3mm.
This guy has both sizes.

I'm afraid that 3mm mirror is a bit big for small motor, but maybe 2mm is too small for moving beam.

It got you searching though didn't it? ;)

Now those mirrors you linked to, good find...I have saved the seller for future reference.

You said mirros are 2mm and 3mm? .... I could find 2cm and 3cm, he also does 1cm which is ideal for the first bounce, 2cm should be good for the second. these motors will handle that size as long as they are well centred.

i bought mines from members here in LPF. Larrfdw sold them to me.

Ask him, he sells them at 2.5$ each, 3$ shipping to europe. :D
