For the sake of simplicity let's leave out all the tangential, orbital and such motion (8 motions apply at least) I just want to address the gedankin experiment in simple terms. If you travel 2X light speed, and look back, while in motion, you see nothing. I think we usually would stop and look back, then you would see yourself in the past, and a few moments later , a little closer, eventually, 1/2 your 2Xc, (c= light speed), travel period later, you would see yourself arriving where you are, and the image would disapear as you seem to arrive. Cool eh?
