Spectra Physics 2020-5

Yes, I am an adult. I will not be putting any paws anywhere inside the laser housing. It was removed for the auction and never screwed back on, so I removed it for more pics and thats it. The rear mirror does give a bright teal/aqua color, it also has a 12 position aperture dial at the front that I figure changes lenses for the different colors? I seriously need to get a manual for it.

No, those restrict the mode structure, allowing you to adjust the diameter, divergence, and mode of the beam, they are just various size holes intracavity.

OK, sounds like you have 488 only or blue only optics. You would have seen the green color in there, but modern flashlights with leds often do not make green light, so one has to ask.

Pm me off list and I'll figure out what it will cost to copy the competitor's manual for the same class system, it tells you what you need to know, its aout 80 pages. The laser is the same basic design, and it looks like you have the remote plug, so you will not need the pinouts. The same 5 or 10 guys did the baseline work at both companies, so your not going to be that far off.

I got the manual!!!!!!!!!!! I sent an email to Spectra Physics and they emailed me the full pdf manual.

Me too, I am still trying to figure out how to get 3 phase into the house.

Hello, does anybody know what material the 3 rods holding the resonator are made of? I have a non-working laser head, and I was hoping that the rods could be a source of controller thermal expansion material (Invar, etc). I need the rod for building a high thermal stability cavity for an ECDL.

They're likely Invar, given the need for a low coefficient of thermal expansion. I know other heads use Invar rods. Assuming the 2020 heads use the same design with 3-4 rods constituting the frame.

FYI, it's considered bad etiquette to revive old threads. This one is nearly 7 years old.

Hope that helps anyway!
