I think i confused people lol sry my diode died because i messed up my driver not cause of the line sry :P

I'm going to be conducting an experiment conserning this line and if it's from driving these diodes too hard. I'm going to start at a low current and see if it's present. I've got 10 diodes on their way and you can bet your butt I'm gonna find out! Every single pointer I've built has had it.
 
I just built a new diy (and it works good yay ;D) and it seems that when the batteries are fully charged the line is their, but when they start going down to the point where i need to charge i notice the line is gone so i think it has to do with the current going to it, with fully charged batteries i have 5omhms on my driver so i think im getting bout 250ma to it unless a 7.2v ni-cd changed the current going to it? Does it?
