It's impossible for giant buidings to just disinigrate into powder....... Think and about it...
I was not common terrorist!

I'll agree that there was probably more to the Kennedy assassination than the government is telling us. The entry/exit wounds didn't match where the shooter was located and some guy conveniently finishes off the shooter before the trial etc etc...

9-11 conspiracy=no. It would be impossible to keep something like that a secret for this long and if there really was a conspiracy the implications would be scary beyond words.

If you believe it is every kids right to have a beaker of conc. hydrochloric acid on their desk, then so be it. But I don't :)

You should have seen what was included in chemistry sets 50 odd years ago :)

Yes ,"scary beyond words", it diabolicle, it only took a few men to secretly build a scaler wave tesla type generator to envelope the buildings in a energy bottle, engine blocks in vehicles melted and tow trucks hauled them all off to a confined area to avoid public notice. It's the greatest deseption ever! I call Alien technology. Now we are just going to forget it and call it terrorizm and just deal with it. Nobody will ever be able do anything thing about.
Just never forget that it's possible, stay happy and live your life to the fullest. ;D

I would love the mercury, only have a small amount left and I'm saving it for a rainy fulminate day :)

I had about 1/4 of a liter of mercury once I gave it to a school chem lab, I love mercury when I was a kid we called it quick silver used to have loads of fun with it then one bright day someone decided it was bad for you. One thing about mercury never ever get near a plane. It eats Aluminum for breakfast, aluminum is actually very reactive with air the only thing that protects it is the fact it annodizes itself, mercury prevents that from happening, so it just self destructs the was an article and film once on the popular science website I think it was.

I remember a few years ago the good times i had with acetone peroxide, various flash powders, thermite damn i gotta start that again!

I think the point folks should take home from all this conversation is this : PLAY SAFELY

If you play with lasers, get safety goggles !
If you play with chemicals, then get the correct gear to handle, and then dispose of it - pretty simple.

I hate to see this thread go so far off topic, I contributed to the ginormous threadjack in progress, too !

Styro - why don't you post some prices for all your goodies, INCLUDING the Mercury...you have every right to sell that to someone, just as folks have the right to solder lasers with lead based solder, and poison the entire earth by flushing batteries down the toilet - bad example, but you can sell it - it's cool ! I am sure you can probably buy it on freaking fleabay anyways !

That stuff is seriously dangerous. Other things there might be hazardous and make dangerous fumes or something, but that much mercury could screw up an entire ecosystem! We're talking thousands, if not tens of thousands of animals could be killed!
<begin thread hijack>
I agree mercury is dangerous stuff... so who knows why the most highly-pushed "environmentally friendly" lighting is... Compact Flourescent Lamps! which are full of mercury vapor. And how many of those when disposed of, will get recycled rather than crushed in the garbage pail thus releasing their mercury in your neighborhood? And of the recycled ones, how many will not be broken when tossed in the recycle bin, releasing mercury vapor in your kitchen or back porch?

we need more LDs LEDs.

Oh wait, I know this argument :) You guys are all those Americans who believe everyone should have the right to every thing.

Like guns for example. You americans are crazy about guns, and believe it is every Americans right to have one. Check out the stats: http://www.mibazaar.com/schoolshootings/ Way more kids from the USofA kill themselves with guns than the rest of the world combined.

I rest my case. You guys are quick to give everyone access to dangerous materials without second thought. You promote ignorance and danger and you suffer the consequences.

lol, stryro, how did you selling chemicals lead to this [smiley=smiley_up.gif] [smiley=smiley_up.gif]???

Well, I just speak my mind. If I think openness in guns leads to school shootings, I say it :)

But back to the chemicals, all I am trying to do is promote safety and awareness. That's all. If some of you decide to hate me because I'm trying to make people aware about the dangers of these chemicals, then that's fine by me. I stand by my morals.

lolz yea, some people in the world just cant handle too much freedom.

now, back on topic.

Styro, it would be convenient if you could set yourself up as a US hub for cheap and readily avalable HNO3.

So amkdeath, you want sulfuric acid and nitric acid.

I have a pretty good idea what you are making there. Very volatile, be really careful ;)

I would rather live with the risk of shootings or people with other dangerous objects than live with an overprotective nanny government that bans anything that can possibly be dangerous. Idiots will always find a way to hurt themselves and other people and you can't stop them. Btw I'm a strong supporter of the right to bear arms so don't try to convince me otherwise.

I think you've misinterpreted me (I probably should of been more clear).

I also believe in the freedom to bear arms (http://bellsouthpwp.net/j/o/jonfoote/dali/other/Beararms.jpg :D ) but slightly differently to how you put it. I believe in the right to bear arms responsibly. It's not just the fact that you have heaps of guns that results in america having more shootings than anywhere else, but it's the lack of responsibility around the guns.

Notice how I haven't campaigned to get rid of all those other dangerous chemicals in this thread? I'm only concerned about the mercury because it has severe environmental effects in that quantity. Here is just an article I pulled up from a google search, http://water.usgs.gov/wid/FS_216-95/FS_216-95.html read it. There is a hundred more articles where that came from. Ask any biologist, they'll tell you that mercury contamination can have severe affects to aquatic environments. To the animals there, and to anything that eats those animals (like humans eating fish). All you need to do is flush the mercury down the sink.

An irresponsible person could do severe damage to an ecosystem with that much mercury, where as with the other chemicals they could only really hurt themselves. Those other dangerous chemicals, go ahead. I'm sure the person purchasing them is responsible. If not, I won't shed a tear at their funeral.

I'm just trying to promote awareness and safety, like I said. I'm not trying to restrict your options or freedom to buy anything :) I mean, if you REALLY want mercury, just buy it at your local store! At least that way they can make sure the person buying it is over 18 and is briefed with the proper procedures to handle it.

Murudai - you make some valid arguments, but the point is, America IS free to do lots of things that other places cannot, and hopefully that will never change - Styro has every right to sell just about anything on this forum - if it is illegal, then he would be censored - but the point remains that it is not illegal, regardless of how much you don't like it, and can be sold. you have made your point, now let's move on to the original reason this thread was started - the sales of some chemicals that Styro no longer has any need to keep any longer, and wants to sell.
