I understand that, but was the laser dismantled before or after it broke?
I haven't been around as much lately and missed everything that's been going on. If the laser was dismantled before it broke I don't see how someone could expect a warranty to cover the damages.
Livylasers / whoever this clown is is still an incredible egomaniac who sells underpowered lasers, but that doesn't mean that you can try to modify something under warranty then expect free repair when it doesn't work out.
I need to read more about what happened...
Hi Pontiac,
It's the 3 times I need to justify myself !
I give you the story board:
09 September, I order the laser, after few days I got mail from lvyvi that battery will not be shipped ! :yabbmad:
I make order 2x3.6 batterys on Ebay and have about 3 weeks to wait for hong kong shipping.
15 september laser review: 742mW for laserbee and 600mW for yobresal.
wait and see....
At least I got my laser the 20 september but I haven't batterys !:scowl:
I need to test it ! so ,I take it to my Lab at work (motorola communication) and powered the laser with my H.P. stabilized power supply. Under 7.4V or 8.4V laser work make a big blue cercle and a little too
take 700mA max.
I work (and like) electronic , I want to take a look at the driver
I verify my ESD bracelet and take off the driver from the laser tub and see that is an PT4115 based driver. I take a picture for forum member and reassemble the laser. put into his case and waiting for the battery.
I begin to seach on Internet information about this pt4115 based driver.
And posted to forum member all informations that i find on PT4115.
look my other post...
I receive my 2 battery only few days ago. I am happy, I can't test his power but i can test burning .....I put black tape less than meter in front of the laser power on and.....nothing. I take my other 200mw red from DX and test burning...a lot of smoke it's OK.
I am thinking that my blue laser is far away from 1W. And thinking seriously to find parts to modifie the driver.
Meantime I am playing with my beautiful laser make demos to my friends ...
Then..26 september my laser begin with flashs !! I power off , verifie batterys Ok, and power on again ...get only weak light like standart led. !
I send my first mail to lvyilaser to get an address for return.
I am supprised, he ask $25 + double shipping for an laser under garanty.
I am not ready for that, if problem is only the driver , I can order Led driver to DX with exactly the same parts and repair my lvyilaser driver.
So I need to know where is the problem: 445 led or driver.
I buy parts to built a test load , parts are easy to find in town.
I take laser to my work .....connect ESD to my bracelet / solders Iron on
I deconnect the led to connect the load to the Driver.
Power the driver under 8V , Test is OK driver give me 4.5V/800mA( and can also 5.5V/800mA.) I am now 100% sure that the led is dead.
I reassemble the laser, power on, no change, weak !
I send my second mail to lvyilaser, to inform that 445 led is dead.
I am shocked, now he want $50 + double shipping (+ $15 that I need to paid again for custom fee).
I was decided to stop communication with lvyilaser and co.
And ready to buy A140 led to kiyoukan for 40.50 shipped world wide.
I am really disappointed with all this story, I NEVER modified the driver, and only wanted to help member to find a solution to get really 1W laser.
If lvyilaser send me a new laser, I will return the bad one with tracking # I hope that I will not read another mail (sabotage/untruthful/insulte....) about this lamentable story.
