How involved will the construction process be if I order one of these pre mounted with leads soldered on. I plan on using the JayRob black 18650 host with the hot option. I really want a 445nm laser, but not going to attempt this build myself if it's challenging.

If you got a hot option kit and the diode with the leads attached in a module you should be able to have it up and running in 5 minutes.

Soldering a wire to a wire is very forgiving in comparison with trying to solder to the diode pins. You can heat the wire up all you want and It will not hurt your diode.:beer:

this relates to 2007revolution question very much. How hard would it be to do in a Ehgemus host (I really like his hosts). If i buy the diode I would have it in a aixiz module with leads soldered on. So basically what would I have to do, and it it hard because this would be my first build. And I dont have enough money to skrew up or to try another build first.

Well Ehgemus does not have a hot option where he sets the driver to the desired current and all you have it two leads that need to be attached to the diode like Jayrob does. So you would need to do that yourself.;)

DTR whats the most you ever push a A140 and or A150 aka what was avg output. i am thinking of building a 445 labby i have a 200mw green and 200mw red labby be nice if i all 3
i be using a P3 driver to feed it and i have the same bench power supply you have in your vids + a few 10amp 9volt wall warts that can feed a P3 with ease
and my buddy is out of town he comes back Monday i can take pic's when he is back he has his camera with him and btw anyone have something they want me to get pic's of at CES i will going my passes came yesterday (not tell 1-4-11).

Most of these diodes will give you about 1.9W being driven @1.8A with a G-1 lens. There are some variations in efficiency with these diodes and to take for example the most efficient one I had was in my Frankenstein and it gave over 2W @ 1.75A. Then there are some on the low side that you can drive @1.8 that will only give 1.75W.

If you look at the one cd520 got from me at the top of this page was giving almost 1.8W driven @ 1.5A. I believe it is the one that he now has in his SS 18650 that is giving 2.1W @ 1.8A. So it is kinda the luck of the draw.:beer:
