Hi,

I buyed and received yesterday a MXDL 1.5W laser from DTR and I must say its a fine build. The Flexmod driver is in a perfect position and everything inside is so well made. It really looks it was made by him for himself.

I made a mistake yesterday a let some teflon inside the diode "chamber" and it burned the diode glass, DTR helped me and told me to decan it (never heard about decanning a laser before yesterday) I read lots of posts about decaning and complex tecnhiques to achive it. But the user Ped told me to gently force the diode glass until it crack and break. A simple but effective technique and it worked like a charm.

Again, I now have two of DTR lasers and both are top notch builds.

Thanks for the kind words. I do make all my lasers for myself and want to keep them all but it gets expensive to not recycle them for new projects.

I would like to clarify that I suggested cleaning the lens first and when you tried several times with several different methods to no avail. I said there is the option to decan it but that it was a risky job.

I do have to give you some major kudos that you pulled it off and the laser is back to its former glory. Great job
