Let me know if you ever make something compact that can put out as many mW as the first one you sent me without the 5 min diode life. You can definitely feel the power drop from the 1st to the second.

Ive managed to light matches from about 8' with the resistored model you sent me, however.

I figured that! :-X Look, I have between $150 and $200 to spend and i am looking for a new hobby. Would like to put those $ into something nice and green >150mW. Do you have anything to sell in that range or make for me in that range??? if $63 gets a nice >150mW, id like to see what could be had for a few $ more.....

Nope. Red lasers are run from a diode that emits the red light. There is no such thing in existance that does the same for green. The green hue of a pointer is made by shining the light from an IR diode through crystals to convert it to the green wavelength. If you're looking for cheap green, go with DX as toked mentioned.

Read alot about that dx200 and other dx models and heard alot about low avg output and crappy beam divergence, any other suggestions??
Thanx for any help.
BTW is there any way to fix/ modify these DXs to correct the beam issues??

I just got home excited, I opened it up and the laser was FAR weaker than a 5mw red. I thought maybe it was a dead battery, I put a new battery in and the same thing :'( I hope it is something simple, I'll be uploading pics shortly.

I went and bought fresh AA's, and well same thing, I wonder if something got knocked loose, or it broke during shipping!?
