*SOLD OUT* >150mW mini red lasers for $63

Re: >150mW mini red lasers for $63

The next run will be in the appropriate range of 150mW-175mW. I don't expect the price to change too much. Once I recalculate my cost (different batteries, housings, parts, ect..) I will post a price.

Re: >150mW mini red lasers for $63

I just received my resistored replacement today (someone needs to teach China how to ship that quickly), and its working fine. Question, though..you stated that you were going to test the drivers with rechargable li-ions and report if they work properly. Did you ever get around to doing that? If I'm reading my multimeter (why didn't I get a digital?) properly, my Tenergy 3.0v RCR123A's are putting out *grabs meter to check again due to bad memory* 4.0v off the charger. The lithium CR123A you supplied with the laser is putting out 3.2v. Are you sure the driver that comes in the MXDL light limits the voltage to 3v? I'm kind of afraid to put these Tenergy's in there, and I dont really have anything to run off the excess power from them other than the now LED that you sent me at first..and that will probably melt itself or make the battery explode before it really does much.

Re: >150mW mini red lasers for $63

I have tested the lasers to 3 volts with different voltage batteries in the past so you should be okay. *testing rechargeable battery* I have a 3.99volt rechargeable here with a 230mW red and it is working just fine and dandy. Your laser should operate great with a rechargeable.

Re: >150mW mini red lasers for $63

Hmm have you tested the actual output power of them?

Also, would the drivers in them run blue ray diodes? Maybe I can switch the red diode for a blue ray and keep it all inside that barol?

Re: >150mW mini red lasers for $63

I received my power meter half way through the first set of lasers, so i have tested half of them or so. The driver doesn't give off enough voltage to drive a blu-ray and the current is way to high. I am sure you could put a blu-ray in this housing if you really wanted to.

Re: >150mW mini red lasers for $63

hey, do you have a time when the second batch will be avaliable?

Re: >150mW mini red lasers for $63

I am currently waiting on 2 packages to finish things up.. 1 should be here in 11 hours and the other in a couple of days. This next run is going to be very limited and that might be the last as I am currently working on another project.

Re: >150mW mini red lasers for $63

:(...
I'm hopeless at putting reds in torches... I'd love for these to be available at least once more.

Re: >150mW mini red lasers for $63

Well, unless they're not a lot more expensive than the first batch, you can count me in as well [smiley=vrolijk_26.gif]

Re: >150mW mini red lasers for $63

What's the new project? 18650 powered RGB pointer? [smiley=lolk.gif]

Re: >150mW mini red lasers for $63

What kind of a resistor ohm rating do you want to put into the circuit to bring down the mW to a suitable level? Looking at the housing, they look really small. Im surprised you managed to work with that amount of room, nice

Re: >150mW mini red lasers for $63

Hey,

Same deal here, if the price is relative, I would like to see another batch, wouldn't mind picking one up myself.

Thanks!
Joe

Re: >150mW mini red lasers for $63

I added a 4.7ohm resistor which brought the mW down to 170 on most, I put a 10 ohm resistor in some which brought the mW down to 120. I also used the amc7135 in a few that I have decided to keep for myself. I ordered a crap load of DX led flashlights and many of them were a really big pain in the a$$ to mod into a laser. I have had many people already purchase most of these new lasers through PM and e-mails but what I have left is here in this post. The price is still $63.
Here it goes.
These two use the Elly flashlight. They aren't the prettiest lasers I've made but they are sturdy. 1 measures @ 150mW and the other 110mW. These both come with a AA battery. The first person to post interest in these two lasers will get the 150mW.

This is a pretty sweet little laser here that does 150mW almost exactly. It utilizes a modified amc7135 CB and has a rear clicky switch. This lasers takes 1 rechargeable 14500 battery which will come included with purchase. *SOLD*

And finally I have a 2mW violet laser. This is a very small laser that takes a single AA battery. It has a rear clicky switch and an adjustable focus. This laser is only 2mW @405nm so it does not appear very bright but it is still a fun color to play around with.
