Re: F/S 1.4W 3 Mode Mini's W Gold Plated Copper Heatsink Video Added

Hehehe I knew that was coming

Only happens to me with lasers luckily.

Edit... I just realized, as parked by my office, and was getting out of my car, I noticed a burning smell.... thought something might be wrong so even popped the hood to take a quick loo... but no everything was fine.

Hopefully not too much damage done to the car door/inside lol.

 Nah, I was wearing regular khakis.

As you mentioned in that PM, you had other items including a phone in your pocket..
Just a note to others who carry their class 4's, its good practice to either carry
with no battery in, or avoid other items in the same pocket.

I have had one mishap, and it was with a tail clicky laser in the small pocket found on most
pairs of jeans. My belt was resting on the tail switch, and when I leaned to the side while
sitting, it activated.

Lucky for me I heard the 'click' and shut it off before boring some holes in my pants :undecided:

WOW. Great video.:gj: I dint even think that was possible. You want to come over and help me solder some of my boards.?:D

The focus adapter on this is a Great Idea. Not only does it look nice but it helps keep the laser cool with more heatsinking.

What some might overlook is that the Lens Becomes apart of the module and with the Finned focus adapter it adds even more heatsink on this tiny build.

I also just noticed it uses a 18350 cell and not 16340's. This is a much better cell when you are in a Single cell build setup. Its Great that you where able to fit this in there. The Host is nearly the withe of it.:p

Haha, they call me the 'solderer' :D No problem if you dont mind random scorch marks in the
solder mask :undecided:

When a laser is this small you want as much surface area as possible, besides, the fins give that serious power look.

With the original 16340's, I dont think I would be able to get the same power out of these.
Even if I could, you would spend more time on the charger.

The host itself is only a few millimeters larger than the battery, I should add a pic beside an 18650
not much of a difference :eg:

Might be a dumb question, but how tough are these and what's the run time? Waterproof at all? I'm usually more of a flashlight guy (huge elzetta fan if you can see where I'm coming from), so I don't know if this is something that's usually sought after on LPF or not.

Very durable, guaranteed by the warranty offered with them..
On high mode, it takes approx 1~1.5mins to get good and warm.

On low, they can be run for mouch longer, as its only 300mW or so.

I wouldnt say water proof, but they can handle some moisture.Everything
is sealed, but im not sure about the lens, and what it would take for water
to get inside..

Another member who bought one of my micro stainless steel builds put his through
the washer with his pants, and a year later, its still going strong.

Interesting, why would you bring a 1.8w Laser to an OFFICE?
