I noticed this behavior on my krypton.

But, it doesn't seem to perform better when its colder. I turn it on for ~5 minutes and it warms up and then it produces a stable output >500mw, i ran 2 LPM test right after for 5 minutes each.

Why do some lasers need to "warm up"? Or is this behavior associated with higher powered DPSS?

really?
when i was new to lasers, there were a bunch of "zomg! freezing laser hax!" youtube videos
but it turns out that it was just killing the laser..
hmm
so if you are up north, then you will get more mw for your money

I might be interested in purchasing this Krapton if Cyparagon posts a few more LPM graphs of 5 minute runs at different temperatures.

Just remember... Cyparagon doesn't have the capability to plot graphs straight from his LPM, so he actually has to record, rewatch, and physically plot various points (manually). So asking for a "few more" graphs at 5 minute runs is kind of asking a lot from someone.

I appreciate all that he has done already... but he has certainly gone "over and above" what a "middleman" should be expected to do.


Either way... knowing how much he enjoys "science" I wouldn't be surprised to see something that will satisfy your request.

I can have one up in a day. I'll use 5 second resolution. Using different temps isn't realistic since you're not going to have any control over that. It will start at 65F which I'd say is pretty typical.

hmmmm my krypton really stable at 820mw and peaks 900mw but I have had it at 820mw -825mw for up to 5 minutes but that is the longest I have ever run the laser.

What kind of LPM are you using? That may be why...

I have yet to see a "stable" Krypton so far...
