My sister-in-law works at the site-to-store section of walmart and told me about these. I just ordered one. Hasn't come in, but very reasonable price for a nice little carry case.

Walmart.com: Trademark Poker 500 Capacity Aluminum Case, Black Interior: Game Room

This is neat because you could keep batteries and such on the other side...

I have two of the bigger versions of this and ended up using them for my camera gear, but I ordered this one in mid-Feb and it hasn't shipped yet.

Beautiful, but pricey...

I have some amazon points and a credit so I'm gonna try this one for $2.77 after my credits!

Hopefully this will point someone else in the right direction if they are looking for a good aluminum carry case for their laser gear.

Some final thoughts, the poker chip carrying cases look to be cheaply made, but might be a good way to get started inexpensively. ALSO, check DARTS carrying cases for potentially good cases.

Good luck!

What kind of foam are you going to put in it and where does one find said foam?

TS,

That's a really nice find. I ordered a couple.

I have two similar to that one that are full of poker chips that I bought years ago at WMT. I actually use two of them stacked under my desk at home for a foot rest, but I digress.

I just checked the ones I have and the trays that hold the chips on mine just lift out leaving a blank cavity ready for some pick and pluck foam.

I hope these are like this as well.

Thanks again.

Glenn

Glenn, the product description isn't very good, but I saw one of the reviews and it said that it has foam in it. I'll let you know how it turns out.

I hope that I didn't steer you wrong. I'll be getting one too. So at least we'll be in the same boat!

This looks nice too, but a bit more expensive...

I keep telling people that I am a nice guy, they just don't believe me for some reason. :D
Well you shouldn't drive around a neon-lighted Corvette then:na:

EDIT: oh wait it's not neon-lighted... strange I thought it was.

You know what they say about the difference between a porcupine and a corvette? With a porcupine the pricks are on the outside! :D

I will be here all week folks!
