The laser and power supply are in good shape. I didn't get the one that was in the listing. I think I got a better one though. The picture shows a 1125MP. I got a 1137P that was manufactured in March 1993. The minimum output of the 1125 is 5mW while the 1137s minimum output is 7mW according to Uniphase.

Here is a link to the item I won. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=110249132989&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=001

I would have powered it up but it didn't come with a way of plugging it in. I took a picture of the input side of the power supply. I might have to come up with my own way of powering it. It shouldn't be that hard assuming the two white wires are for power and the green is for ground. I'll probably find a 3 pin male/female connector set and make my own cord. Now for some pictures.

Well, I certainly can appreciate that a HeNe is like a fine wine, subtly sophisticated and worth the price... But what do people actually *DO* with HeNe's? Holography? Like, what's the point of having a really expensive 5mW?

I think HeNe lasers are just for the novelty and collectors value. Visibly they don't look any different than a 635nm pointer that you can buy for $25 from atlasnova or z-bolt.

I've been working on a temporary power cord solution. I should have it done and powered up within the next couple days. I am going to call Uniphase to verify the wiring since they want all kinds of personal information through e-mail support...

Ugh, I don't know what's up with Uniphase. I talked to them on the phone today. They couldn't provide any answers right then because the product I have is old. The person I talked to said she would look up some information and e-mail it to me. I got the e-mail and it is the same information I found on the website... I tempted to just go with directions the seller gave me since I want to power it up.

Ignore this post... I just realized I should have read more in your original post ;D

I didn't realize you had a power supply, I thought you were plugging the tube into the wall :o

I found out how to wire it up correctly. I did a quite a bit of seaching and reading last night. I did find a place that should be able to help even though it didn't list what I needed to know on the website. This is the home page for the website I found. Google sent me to a page about HeNe power supplies deep within this website.

The amount of information that can be found is insane.

More like a platinum mine. I couldn't believe how much information he has there. It would probably take at least a week to read all of it.

I fired up the laser and it works just fine. I posted some pictures in the media section.
