Hey guys, I golf as a hobby and I thought of a great idea to help myself and other golfers, using a laser pointer under the bill of a baseball cap to monitor our head movement during the stroke.

However, I have looked online for golf training aids like that but all of them use weak red laser pointers that can only be seen indoors. So guys, are there any strong laser pointers that can definitely be seen outdoors and is automatic (meaning just press the button once and it'll beam forever until the button is pressed again or battery dies) but also small enough to be taped to the underside of a baseball cap bill and be worn comfortably?
 





I used to golf all the time and as I recall my eyes were on the ball until it was driven. Then it was in search of where the ball was going. For these reasons, I think lasers are not the best approach to monitoring your head while driving a golf ball. To be able to see the dot in sunlight, it needs to be above 5 mW which is not eye safe and you will be blinding someone with your laser golf cap.
 
Can using over 5 mW be relatively safe at the driving range given safety precautions? For example, going to the far side of the driving range and never looking in other people's direction and just focusing on the ball and the target and the grass. And then turning it off after each shot, is that a better approach?
 
Just not safe because it's not very controlled, if you look at someone out of habit you could blind them, or an accident, too easy to flash someone with a strong enough laser to see the spot well.
 
If you are concerned about your golf swing, try having someone take videos of you at the driving range. You will be able to see so much more than just your head position.
 
As people have said, obviously a bad idea. But to add something that's not been said yet; If you have a laser strong enough to see the beam in daylight strapped to your head. The dot its creating 5 feet away from your eyes (and most likely reflecting off a white golf ball) is almost certainly going to temporarily ruin your vision. You'll be lucky enough to hit the thing and if you do, good luck seeing where it is in the sky.

Adds a whole new meaning to the word "handicap"...
