Yeah that one looks really cool, but the problem is that it ships from China, meaning it may not make it passed customs for a long time, and also it costs about $800 for the 700mw. I do like it, it has a very cool host and can be plugged in, I just wish it was half the price and sold in the U.S. And I probably need to research jetlasers.org to see if they are reliable or not.

Jetlasers is a very reputable company... can't go wrong buying from them.

IMO their host also looks much better.

There is also currently a group buy going on with them, so you may even be able to get a better deal.

But will any other high power 445nm be able to handle a 24/7 duty cycle?

That lasts 2 hours on a charge?

And has multiple power settings? I really like that about the Arctic...
 
Lol talk about ripping off WL!

It does say "longer duty cycle" but I wonder how long? The arctic is actually advertised at 24/7. Still, I really like their optional AC power. That would come in really handy. After all, these oversized pen lasers can serve as lab lasers but only if they have unlimited duty cycle and can be powered over AC.

It would be great to see "portable/lab" as an emerging type of laser. WL should really steal that idea of the AC power option...

Half the price? So cca. 500$ total...
that is kinda impossible unless you buy a cheap and low quality one.

What's bad when shipping from China?

I like it because it can be plugged in or can be run on 26650 battery which I prefer over 18650.


I just worry about beam divergence, but laserglow has 700mw for 3000$
so 800$ is a much better price. (BE is a must, but which one?)
 
I don't often see people on here talking about the hulk and hulk ultra series from dragonlaser but i've had my hulk 175mw for almost 4 years now and after 4 years of review i can say its a very high quality, solid build. I know someone who recently got a an Aries series laser from laserglow and i can honestly say the hulk is a much better build. I've never used any of the cheaper lasers from other sites but just by judging at the pics i imagine the hulk is of better quality than any other laser of that style on the market. You can't go wrong with the hulk ultra 450mw. I'd imagine to be over spec as well.

I just sold a 2.1W laser you could leave on all day. Which was 3X the power of an average (700-800mW) Arctic.

I agree the Arctic host is kind of cool. But for me it to big. The size is what gives the long run time. I like the smaller Riffle host from Lazerer better though. It may not have long run times, but it fits in your pocket. Also if you are using a pointer for hours on end, without movement, you're better off getting a lab laser.

My biggest grip with WL is their electronics are crap. Plus they come off like they are the best on the planet. They directly lie in their advertisement, and market to kids. 1W is no joke. Its far from kid friendly.

One thing you forgot to mention is you have to pay for shipping if the laser has to go back. And a lot of people had to return theirs. That can add up to some big money.

All things considered I dont think a cool looking host is enough to ignore all the other negatives.
