I'm wondering if an admin can tell me why the search function fails when searching for "LPC-815"

I thought it may be the hyphen, but when searching for "PHR-803T" it works fine.

The search engine will not accept 3 character search criteria.
Using the hyphen makes LPC-815 into two 3 character words LPC and 815

On the other hand using PHR-803T... PHR is a 3 character word that is ignored
but the 803T is a 4 character word that the Search engine can use..

If you use PHR-803T or just 803T you will get the same results....

It's actually really frustrating that the search on this site is so terrible.

There are some times when it's actually quite crucial to be able to search 3-letter words. I can't actually think of an example right now, but there have been times when a 3-letter word was necessary for narrowing a search, and for whatever reason, not being able to use it really impeded searching. Google is great, but then you loose the fine-tuned ability to specific usernames, reply count, etc.

It seems like such an artificial limitation.

TJ, aha! Why didn't I think of using a wildcard? duh! lol
LPC*815 still doesn't work too great though. Has missed all but one thread with LPC-815 in the title.

Thanks again.

In addition to the above recommendations, I also use the "advanced search" almost exclusively. I can usually find what I'm looking for

Peace,

Thanks for the reply Dave.
Tho it was the Advance Search that I've had issues with.
