Scientist Develop Magnetic Force Field

I wish we had these on our humvees in Iraq to stop incoming rounds/shrapnel that would be awesome. I bet we will utilizing this new technology in the near future

You know how they have that RPG netting that catches the RPG before the front hits the humvee and detonates? I heard a story about a humvee that drove up to base with 30+ undetonated RPGs stuck in the netting. But that would be cool if they could get this to work with solid objects, but I'm pretty sure ATM that it can only block radiation. It's not like the earth's field stops solid objects.

Not being sarcastic at all, I had expected this thread to get real silly quick.

Rather had expected someone would try to say that the earth magnetic field deflects meteor hits, or something down those lines.

oh haha. I see. yeah, threads like this tend to devolve in to pseudo-scientific fiction real quick. I remember seeing a thread about EMP proof flashlights over at CPF and if I recall they had some really cool info on how EMP attacks work, along with a lot of BS.
