hmmm maybe ill run a 638 @ 1.4A. where did you read this will work. i thought 850mA was the recommended for a 638

Yeah me to, but i was reading an old thread and re visiting this one http://laserpointerforums.com/f50/first-look-500mw-mitsubishi-ml501p73-635nm-638nm-diode-69702.html I will try and find the one i was reading that says we can run them at 1.2-1.4A with a reasonable life time.
