Well, I thank you, but I think the person that should be thanked is RedCowboy for his explanation, as he did quite a good job.

I googled the proper distance a laser should be away from a Thermopylae and got no information. Hopefully someone how knows will post.

Podo has mentioned before that that laser was in the freezer for a few minutes before he LPMed it!

Yeah obviously if the laser is to close to the Ophir the reading won't be accurate I always metre at about 30cm some do it closer!

There are strange rules for those who test their pointers, most people head them into the jug, now I know what the freezer is! I have to say that all this is pretty ..... how to say .... original :thinking:

Yes, I put the laser into freezer first and there is actually a ice pack cooling it when I did the test to see how strong the diode can go with such setting.

It looks like he's about 300 miles north of me. I don't know the man but tell him I'm :wave:ing a hand from down here in Lancaster. He certainly got a beauty, tell him " well done". I came sooo close. But I'm glad he bought it. I'm sure he'll enjoy it. I know I'm enjoying mine, I even brought it 2000 miles away with me.
