Hello there folks ,

Issac just found a site that would at least answer 60% of the technical questions raised on the forum !

I bring you.
Sam's FAQ.

The Britannica of the Laser world.

However.. being a Britannica, you also get the same problem.

However, for old farts such as myself. Squinting all day long trying to soak up all the fun facts would be rather tortuous to my eyes.

SO!
I talked to Sam about it and it turns out .
He has a 90MB file of his entire site zipped ready to pelt peoples' faces with it.

There is a problem tho.
How do you turn a HTML zip into a printable PDF file....
There are a few of those free converters out there. However... none of them are working for me (not working as in not converting).

Perhaps some of you gurus out there maybe able to help me sort it out :D

Well adobe acrobat should do the trick... I would have to test it though...

Ok well it does work now the problem is that the link you sent is a zip that contains a lot of mixed information.
I am combining all the files in one single PDF file. If that is what you want. I can put it online and send you a link so you can download it.

YOU ARE DA MAN!!!

Please do!

Everyone need to read this :D

As for the scrambled files.. .well... thats what Sam gave me and I don't really understand how this stuff works so... well...

I guess so huh...

Great contribution to the forum Norbyx! Thanks for putting the effort into this for everybody :D

Thanks of course to Sam for making this available in the first place and to EpicHam for bringing it up here.

EpicHam I showed you this a day or so ago in response to your thread encyclopedia of lasers listed here, so you didn't really find it, now did you?

If someone tells you about something, acting like you found it is in poor taste. Additionally, as bloompyle stated, it is has been around for ages.

@Norbyx: props on taking the I initiative to combine the data! +1

Hopefully Dr. Sam is okay with that. Just make sure no profit is made on prints. He has specified that if they are to be sold, they may only be sold for the cost of the printing.

I don't think that anyone would print a 5000+ pages document. It would need to be put in order, as for now I don't see it very usefull since it is a mess of pictures and text and schematics. But if it was ment to have one certain order it would have had it in the names of each file.
Anyhow I have no intention in using it, I prefer the web site since it is easyer to navigate.

Sam's guide is always good to bring up for new members EpicHam, The Vets have spent years figuring everything out for us, so credit where credit is due is all. We owe them a lot of respect ;)
