I am going to buy more diodes and they have changed from SLD1239JL to SLD1239JL-54.
Also they cost a tiny bit more. Whats the difference in mw's?

The lower graph is the original StoneTek diode. The upper graph is an open can diode.

So whats the safe working current for these new diodes at 3v's?

I ran mine at the upper threshold -- 400 mA -- for 14 hours. YMMV.

I'd stay around 350 mA or so. Meter your diode. Anything over 400 mA just made heat.

it might need alittle more heat sinking if you are going to do the "minimag hack"
or you can under power the diode.

Yeah, I don't think heatsinking is such a big issue compared to the need of a DRIVER.

Consider: Power in - Power out = Heat to be removed. Stay below the power curve ;D

Hey Hemlock sorry if this was asked before but when i read your thread on the new diodes and how you ran them at 400ma were you using additional heatsinking beyond the aixiz module?
