Sale PL520 $99 ML501P73 $55

Possibly though monday but depends on how many sell this weekend. They were $125 for the PL520 and $65 for the P73's. I had to buy a ton of the PL520's to even get the last batch so I just need to move some along.:)

Good deal:) Just ordered both a PL520 AND a ML501P73:D.
All for the good cause of more 5W 650nm C-Mount diodes, Heh:beer:.

Got my stuff today. I still don't now how the hell you manage to get things here so fast. I couldn't help but firing up the 520 diode and all I can say is WOW. It's so much of a color than 532 is. I can't wait to have fun with the PJ optics kits from the PJs

I did notice one oddity though. I powered it using my bench PSU since the host I ordered from sinner isn't here yet and I'm an impatient SOB. I set it for the middle of the driver's voltage range. 4.2v but when I actually powered it it only showed 2.2v being drawn. My DMM confirmed it as well. Maybe because I was limiting the current to ~150ma since I really don't trust this supply? I did up the current to about 400ma and it still only drew 2.2v.

If you got one with a microboost I suggest not trying to modulate it. Set your PSU to 4.2V and set the current all the way up to simulate a battery then connect the module. Drivers sometimes tend to act funny when you try to restrict the current.

As far as the 2.2V I am having a hard time visualizing what you are seeing.

Odd must have been the limited current because when I cranked it up to full and left it set to 4.2v it drew 4.2v. Oh well now wait for the sweet host from sinner to arrive for it.
