I had an Idea to make a laser differently. So, I was happy to purchase a Silver mag-light From Jayrob (The Man!) . Very Large air cooled / finned aluminum heat-sink.

Video in (Operation) https://youtu.be/U1HLLiozblE

What I did different was to put a 80MHz ARM processor, dual Color OLED Multiple sensors INSIDE the Laser.

Feb 13th, 2016 - UPDATE: Thank you so much for the+REPs and "Great Build" Comments. I feel bad, but I do want to sell this. I dropped to $500 shipped. Let me know if Im asking too much. Will consider $400 plus trades.. Laser Diodes/components, Optics, High Powered Optics, Etc.

--Relative Output Power
--Laser Assembly Temperature
--Actual Current draw
--MCU controlled output

Twist the laser CW to increase (step) laser output, CCW to decrease. I have not added any cool / odd focus ring, but will attach a 1.25" ring for focusing.

I am happy (and willing) to discuss building "subsystems" allowing Your (someones) lasers to have "similar functionality" OLED/SMALL LCD, Sensors, sensor control, MCO current / Voltage control, Your name/LOGO and really, depending on the laser driver used, control of most/all functionality.

Very nice idea. Is there a chance to compare the real output power with the one showing on OLED display?:san:

That is a great question.

Since we build laser power meters the calibration was simple. We measured the output at the microprocessor output max (3.3V) which was 6.35W AFTER the lens. We then just calibrated the display to read "linear" to the output. It's within a few (5% +/-)
