Safety Glasses GB!

yes, but they still can't give me a VLT measurement, seems they just don't know what it is and/or never measured for it...

I ordered them anyhow friday, the important specs are the OD and wavelengths, not necessarily the VLT. So factor in Chinese shipping and customs, etc, I would give em a couple weeks at max before i get them and can send them out.

I do hope that you are confident the goggles you are offering here will provide the protection as stated. You are offering something to protect something else that can not be replaced at any price. I would not mess around with something like this without knowing the full specifications of the goggles.

VLT does play am important role. If it is too low, the pupils will dilate allowing too much light to get through. Following is some more information I found about VLT.

VLT
The attenuation of light by a filter in the visible spectrum is defined by the so-called VLT (visible light transmission) the daylight transmission or the luminous transmittance. The VLT is determined in relation to a standard illuminant and evaluated according to the spectral sensitivity of the eye to daylight.

Should measured VLT-value be less than 20%, the user should ensure that their working environment receives additional illumination. With a low VLT and bad illumination one can expect our eyes to adapt to so-called night vision. In doing so the color vision is restricted and the spectral sensitivity of the eyes moves towards the shorter wavelengths. For these kinds of filters it is also useful to provide the VLT-value for night vision.

And why is there more than one thread for the same group buy?

well, it started over there, and then member 02 made this thread here...

im sorta abandoning that thread tho...

yea, i know, I'm going to have to get my own photos when they get here, and I'll find a way to measure the VLT.

I just ordered some red laser glasses.

Member02, I just sent you an email....and PM....so you shouldn't have to try to guess anything lol. I pretty much said it all in the messages.

i guess its too late for me to get in on it....how often do we have group buys for safety goggles?

not very often. Member02 places an order every time at least 5ppl or so commit

oh...so I can just goto the link and pay up and eventually they will get sent to me after enough people sign up??? seems easy enough...

yes, right now I have extras as well.

UPDATE: They Are In!

I'm looking for a knife to open the boxes, I'll have pictures within the hour.

I will try to ship them out tomorrow and friday!
