I’ve been meaning to build and post this build for a while but been working long hours for days...

I asked Lifetime17 to build me a copper pen 14500x2 version of his 10440 pen.

Observe.

Nice! Which diode are you using. Throws a nice looking beam. Enjoy. :)

Thx for the replies and nice comments!! She’s purtty, that’s for sure! This is the PLTB450B diode and 1.8A x-Drive. It supposedly has better divergence characteristics, from what I’ve read. But Podo says my Challenger has an M140. The divergence looks similar. I havent measured them...
my Challenger, PLTB450B and M462 all look pretty close in spot size... this PLTB450B is with a 3 ele lens as does my M462. Challenger has G7.
I love them all

Hi Andrew,
I was waiting for you to resurrect the host with an awesome diode choice. I am a very big fan of the PLTB450B and at 1,8A thats the ticket to a great build. congratulations on your successful accomplishment .

Rich:)

That pltb450b is prefect for that pen build, great choice. Rich does some awesome work, his host are top notch. I see you've got a nice collection growing on your signature. Well done. :)

They are close but the pltb450b is a little better.
Here's a thread about it with pics
As far as I know the pltb450 is 1.4w and the pltb450b is 1.6w factory rated otherwise the same.
