Tell me what you think of my new set up. I got a 500 mW 8x laser with a pressure switch for blinding zombies and a 300lumen flashlight for robbers.

That's awesome, but be careful the recoil on the gun doesn't destroy the diode

If I ever become a zombie, being killed by that would be an honor.

Oh yeah that EOtech is the best thing that has ever happened to me.

I had to replace my front A style sight for a folding one just to get it out of the way of the EOtech.

did you get a MOE? or a different MP-15

I was gonna get one of those piston-operating-system ones but I failed.

I've got an AR 15 from some years ago but don't get to shoot much.

Have you fired off a few rounds with the 8X mounted? It would be interesting to see how it holds up. I think it should be ok.
I chucked an SF-AW (in aixiz) across the room at a wall and spun it in a Dremel at full speed... It lived and lased! I've never subjected any other diode to this kind of trauma though.

No I haven't yet fired it. This weekend I will. I have the same experience as you, I have had diodes go through a lot of physical abuse and the only thing I have ever lost one too is high currents.

The main thing I'm worried about is the high heat when I fire the gun. It is sitting right next to the gas block too.

its an mp-15 just the all black version. and yea it would be a shame to waste an 8x i woulda just thrown a PHR in there just to see if the recoil or any other thing effects it
