Just beware that it will leave lots of droplets in everything (i.e. your hands get grey if it melts on them)

Thanks to Wikipedia I now know that Gallium is an interesting metallic element with a low melting point use in the production of semiconductors or to make prank spoons that melt in hot tea.

Is pure Gallium safe to be handling with your bare hands? I know if it was Gallium Arsenide you definitely wouldn't want to touch it.

I believe that pure gallium is safe as long as you don't ingest it.

It does matter, to a lot of people actually. ie: chemists when they deal with relatively small amounts of reactants(0.00xxxg) and do not want impurities in their final product.

Correct, however, do NOT let it solidify back anywhere on your body. Keep it away from high temperatures also..it will emit toxic gases. The gases are pretty much the "hazardous" part of the metal.

No reason. I wanted to collect high purity samples. I just needed one sample(pellet), however, as much as I am tempted to buy the pellets, I am not sure if I should go through with the offer he offered me. Kinda nervous of buying metals through people/companies with no reputation. Whoever is interested in buying it can. I would much rather purchase Os and Ir anyways..but cant seem to find any place that doesnt charge 2000% price markup.

That is so true..just like this Pt noble round i found with a mintage number of only 45. And the funny thing is, the seller thought it was silver. Lol..
