That's right. I finally got it. I checked the tracking number this morning and it said "Item depatched over seas" So of course I was like arrrrrrg...Then I get the mail today, and see it says Rayfoss...Thank you USPS, for your wonderful tracking updates!

My pros:
I feel this is a good laser. Nothing feels cheap, the battery cap and focusing feel smooth and tight (water tight) so the focusing requires a bit more torque then the focusable 200mw green laser. The dot is decent, and it does feel to be as bright as i recalled my 20x LOC to be. In all, I feel this is a good built laser, and I'm happy I got it. I love the water proof part!

My cons:
Well, the I can see this was a multimode red laser diode...It's not a TEM00 and I say this because I get a dot with a line. You can see this in my images below. Up close when it comes to burning you cant notice it, so I'm not too upset. Also, The battery charger is probably set best to do a single battery, but when I move its slider, it seems to stick and click hard before it moves...This (i'm guessing) is either for 2 batteries, or a 18650 support.

As you should know by the link, this requires a single CR123A battery.

The packaging didnt come with a nice foamy box like the green laser did, instead it was just packed in a multi-cardboard make-shift box. It arrived safely, but there's no check marks saying the lasers power.

I would recommend this to a friend :D

Nice!! As long as you are happy with the product, that is all that counts IMO...

I always wanted a waterproof for pool use, how is the burning? Wonder if it is up to spec..

Same, pool time at night with beams? hehe. I havn't done much, but it didnt have issues smoking plastics. I don't own matches so I cant help you there, sorry :(
 
lights red tipped matches in an instant, burns incredibly well. ive dropped it multiple times, and no problems. faona tested mine, and she says its 215mW. im not sure if its true, but i trust her. its my favorite laser:)

Nice review, but the line is common to most high power red diodes, if it was multimode the dot would have been more of a square than a dot, like thus [] just thought I'd clarify.

I am noticing one thing that kinda bugs me. If you push a little hardish on the focusing head forward or backward, you can change the focus by a bit. Meaning when I twist to focus it, sometimes when I let go it unfocuses...or if its in my pocket i take it out and its not focus. I noticed this for long range pointing, close range isnt an issue..So unlike my other lasers, you cant expect it to be focused the second you turn it on.

It bugs me time to time, especially if im trying to burn something at like 10ft...other wise it's fine with me.
 
Actually, I've noticed that too. But i figured it was just mine, so I figured I shouldn't mention it, and put somebody off on the laser, because it really is nice. But I've realized that's a no-no, haha:p also, the lens is hard to clean. but the white part is just plastic that's a tad thicker than paper, it's just cheaply glued on. And underneath, it looks like there's star-effect tip threads, like on those greenies. Anyone care to try this out for me?...if you don't want to take of the white thing, I totally understand:) however, it does make the lens easier to clean.
 
Maybe put a bit of teflon tape on the threads to keep it from moving back and forth so easily?
 
It's not the threads, it's the o-ring. If you take off the o ring, the laser focuses REALLY smooth and easy. I just put some lubricant on the o ring, it works ALOT better:)
 
Yes, I had my hottub set to 89F yesterday and enjoyed the laser for 10 minutes while I was in it. I had fun because as you said the beam was so rich. The heating tube output makes a lot of little bubbles, so that was rather cool to swing the laser through. Pointing it at an angle and seeing it reflect back down off the water's surface. Maybe one day I can go out at night and just shoot a video putting my hand into water.

I had no problems with it, it survived my 10 minutes of water fun.

Scottyzedinosaur, What can be used to clean make the rings more grease for better focusing? I noticed grease already on the thing when i went to a burning-focus. Would greasing them ever cause a chance to leak or not really?

I'm afraid to take it apart just because of its waterproof joy...Are the parts prity solid or do things start falling off when you remove the head?

I dont find lens cleaning too hard...I use lens cleaner and a quetip, later a lens pen. The first time I did a dry quetip, and got cotton fibers stick on the white plastic :D It's all clean now :)

So yes, Laser is great for water as far as I can tell. I did little focusing in the water because I wasn't sure if I should :P Was cool :) Makes me wish all of my lasers could do this!

To be completely honest, I have no idea if greasing the o-ring will make it un-waterproof...but i've taken mine apart countless times, and it's still just as waterproof as it was when I got it:D and nothing falls out when you take of the top.

It did a little, but it makes since.

If you move the head in, your pushing air out.

If you move the head out, your making a vacuum causing water to want to be sucked in.

Greasing it will just make it slip more. My rings came greased. It also makes them last longer, otherwise O-Rings start to become hard and brittle and start forming cracks, which leads to leaks. Because they were dumb enough to have the diode wide open (no seal lens in front of it) the instant water hits it, its dead. (Open can)

Greasing o-rings actually helps it be more water-proof. Keeps the o-rings nice and rubbery, and grease, or oil repels water. I use rem-oil.
