The JL-54 is the one that Senkat stocks and sells now. You will want to set it between 250mA's and 300mA's. (heatsinked)

Have you had one die at 300mA yet?
If so, for how long was it running?
 





You might ask that question (as a new thread) in the red lasers section. Others might be able to chime in.

I have not personally had one die at that power, but I'm not a heavy user. I wouldn't be able to tell you how many minutes of estimated time I had on the last one I had at that power. (which I sold) But it wasn't much time on it. Less than 15 minutes...

The thing is, we have a graph of the diode here, so we have a point of reference. Also, the diodes are not expensive. So with that in mind, it's good for experimenting! TEC, better heatsinking, etc...
