My DX Modules arrived today.  They were with another order, I forgot about adding them and now have another 3 on the way.  Doh!
Here are some pics:

Next to a brass DX module.

The driver board has a SMD green LED on it.

Top side of board.

Bottom of board.

I did a little circuit analysis of the board - I managed to push it to about 70mA (from about 30mA) but that's about max for this board's components.

Not bad fit and finish.  Much easier to get apart than the brass modules. It will fit Senkat's GB diodes. :)

How can you put SenKat's diodes in? Are the driver and diode in the DX modules glued in, or do they just come out?

They are pressed in. You can knock them out from the front.

Is that also the case with AixiZ modules? Sorry, I'm new at this :(

I don't have an Aixiz module but I believe that's the way they are configured.

Yea but it should be really easy and besides you can beat the hell out of the diode in there since it is basically worthless.

The little LD and driver are easily pressed out. I use my drill press as an arbor press and put a nail in the chuck. The assembly still works. I then use the press to push the new diode into the module. You can also use a vice.

would a nut driver also work i have tried unsucessfully woth some other ways and am trying to figure out the best way

To push out the diode?

You can try and stabelize the thing with the bottom part attached on a table, remove the collimating lens, then tap it gently with a hammer and a torx screw. It'll pop right out :)

Firstly, apologies for bringing this thread back from the dead, I just wondered if the lenses are coated in this module?

Many people say that 100% of them are NOT coated. I have three myself and they are not coated.
