Really cheap DAC and software bundle!!

I already own a Novation controller among others (I'm a musician when I'm not working or messing with lasers). Thanks for the info.. I'm already considering the fb3 option. I'll have to do more research, but based on what you're telling me it sounds like it might work.

might work!!!

theres no might about it LOL, it will work.

your forgetting livepro is the best software money can buy, ok its a slightly cut down version for the fb3. but not much in it really.

all the pros use livepro, your not a pro if you dont own livepro ;)

im sure if you ask nicely someone on PL will give you the map for the novation to work with livepro.

LOL.. My problem (if you want to call it that) is I have a >$10,000 music studio along with all the $$ I've spent on lasers. In other words I'm a professional musician and engineer already. I just can't afford to be a pro at everything no matter how much I might like to.. Some things just have to take second stage. What I'm going for is to add a 100% live laser show to our live act. Using a midi controller is ideal, since I've already got other synths and controllers there. Adding another is no problem.

Lasers are expensive, and when you have several interests, you've got to budget well. My DIY sound card DAC doesn't allow for real-time show creation either, but it cost me less than $100 for the entire solution incl. software. Between that and building my scanners myself (except for my RGB) I've managed to save myself a bundle and I'd like to continue that trend. The FB3 is like $595 with liveQuick IIRC, which would probably be sufficient. The price isn't too bad either. The more you tell me and the more research I do the more it's starting to seem like FB3 is exactly what I need..

money is a problem for all of us!

livequick is just a player and nothing more and has no midi features

So I have to have livePRO.. After looking at the cost, I'll have to pass at this point. It looks like that's an ideal solution, but I don't have a >$1250US budget for a DAC system. I'll most likely end up with a RIYA or something similar. I may have to throw my "100% live" idea out along with the FB3 plan..

I know I'm definitely not the only one out there with a family and too many interests. Since family is the obvious priority, and music next, lasers get the crumbs of whatever money is left. Oh, well. Can't have everything.
