Can you post the pics here? Its a pain to have to register over there...

so how well is it at burning? how long does it take to light a match (assuming it lights matches) (with or without black sharpie).
what does the beam look like at day/night...compared to a DX True NewWish pen (assuming youve owned one?)

I'm going to order this laser from KD, i hope mine will be good!
the laser does not come with a battery tho right? which battery did you buy?
They do come with an included 18650 rechargeable.  The included battery probably isn't the best quality so you should consider getting some better batteries for long term use.
According to KD the package includes.
Unprotected 18650 2400mAh
Laser Flashlight
Layard safety lock

Get these from dx and they should arrive before the KD laser.

already got the DSD charger which is good.
i too thought DX would have been faster but it sound like KD delivered that pretty quick.
im not sure if i should order from DX or KD cuz DX wont even reply to my ticket about the laser, and KD is less expensive.
lol this is gonna sound funny, but so true about DX and KD shipping...I want my laser before mid June, when my frirend is comming up from california.

If you want the 150mw you should buy it from KD. It's much cheaper than dx and KD won't ship it with EMS. Usually stuff from KD ships quickly if it is actually in stock when you buy it.

which guy said this? on KD they only tested with the 50mW model, (dont think it was focused either) and DX hasnt really talked about burning..

Rain from DX said that, when he called me over Skype, to tell me they got these lasers. I was expecting the CR2 models, not these, so at first i thought he was talking about those.

But like Razako said, i think he just didn't know how to focus it, or that it is required at all.

Ok, i just managed to read Miloš's review.

When i first heard of the focusable laser, i said i just hope they didn't make if focusable in the wrong direction.. I was joking of course, but it would seem they actually did that. I would expect a focusable green laser to be able to converge for burning, and not just get more divergent. What's the deal here?

Otherwise, Miloš only measured 10mW of difference with and without an IR filter. That is what i get if i put an IR filter in front of my already filtered CNI150. That would mean there is little or no IR in the beam or it's at least highly divergent as always and doesn't influence the readings noticably. It does not mean, there is 10mW of IR in the beam. Filters reduce the green output as well, which is another reason cheap manufacturers don't like putting them in.

The power would seem to drop to 80mW after a while, which is odd for a laser that has such a massive body, and with a slightly empty battery, the power is also lower, which shouldn't happen in a current regulated laser, unless it drops out of regulation too fast. But it really shouldn't happen on such a big battery.

Looks like they did use a plastic heatsink to connect the module to the body, or maybe even the classic air-heatsink, like the one New Wish likes to use. ;)

There is probably a LOT of room for improvement in this laser. If it is really not regulated too well, a few AMCs could easily do the trick. Carefully picking off the air heatsink atom by atom, and replacing it with some metal would make it more stable. And preventing the focusing head from stopping when the beam is almost parallel (or changing the position of the lens a little) could make it capable of focusing down for burning.

Why are the Chinese completely unable to understand the concept of a heatsink? Adding a huge heatsink does nothing if you put plastic insulation around the parts that should be transferring heat to the heatsink. First the Romisen lasers and now these. It can't be that hard to understand.

I said it before, and i'll say it again: A plastic heatsink would have been an improvement in most of these lasers. Plastic is better at conducting heat, than the air, they usually put between the module and the body.

Otherwise, i don't know if they really used plastic. ;) I just remembered you mentioning it once in relation with these lasers, and Miloš's results would seem to confirm either a heatsink made of plastic or the usual - air.

My DX200 pens actually stay above 100mW for approx the same time as this thing seems to, if i understood the review correctly. And the peak power is also 150mW. So where are the improvements? And WHY does it focus outwards?!?

The description says "fully heatsinked module" and "current regulated driver". But the results don't really agree.
I mean, it's always the same story. Either with the drivers or the heatsinks - all the components are there, just not connected. ;D

Honestly, i am expecting the same power with more stability, just from putting my DX200 pen modules into the massive KD50 bodies, with current regulated drivers of course.
But at least this laser looks good and is big, so it should have lots of room for improvement, for anyone willing to do some work.

lol wow, so should i not get this laser? if KD doesnt stock the 200mw one, what about the other 200mW one they have? the one that takes a cr123A battery?

Knimrod's review makes it look amazing! Very stable in power. I hope Miloš's battery was just too empty for regulation. And it does focus in the correct direction. :) Miloš updated his review.

The reason it doesn't heat up is that it uses a 0.5W diode at 630mA. I expected a more powerful diode. It's actually an amazing power of green from so little IR. I just hope they are consistent.

Now i almost want the 200mW one. But i also want a >400mW one.. ::)

well i just orderd the dx 200mw 18650 laser ..... should be her in a month or so ... but the status did say that they had evey thing in stock i just hope they dont ship it ems as i didnt click for it to be shippd that

I also purchased the DX 200mW Green Laser 18650. DX has dropped the price to $184.00.

Does anybody know of a good pair of goggles to use with the DX 200mW Green Laser 18650?

Thanks!!

i like how they drop the price of the 200mW but not the 150mW....its still too much for me :'(
so im still having to stick with KD.
