It's a push button. It has an indicator light for added safety. It also has an aperture shutter that you can close to protect the lens whenever you want to carry the laser in your pocket.
You should go for the 200mw from dx. They have better customer service than Kai and will be more helpful if you get a defective laser. If you get the 150mw you will always be wishing for more power.

I'm actually refering to the DX 150mW focusable now, not the KD one.
well, the 200mW one is $200, i wouldnt pay that much for a laser from DX, even $150 seems a bit much for me, but...I MUST!
i wonder how much of a difference the 150mW and 200mW really is from eachother. Also, i wonder if ill find a way to always keep the button pressed and just use the key as an on off, that may be closest as far as a "click button"

rofl my one and only positive reputation went away when the server rolled back.

Just use a nylon tie or clamp to hold the button down. You can easily slide the tie over the button when you want the laser to stay on and you can easily slide it off when you want to use the button normally.

I heard the 200mW model takes 3-5 seconds to light a match. At first i thought it was about the CR2 New Wish 200mW, so i simply thought they have a fat beam, but as those models still haven't appeared on DX, it's possible it was the focusable 200mW model.

I hope the guy just didn't know it was supposed to be focused and was doing it the wrong way...

which guy said this? on KD they only tested with the 50mW model, (dont think it was focused either) and DX hasnt really talked about burning..

He was probably trying to light the match with the laser improperly focused.

Hi,
I bought 150mW version of this unit from Kaidomain. It was only $135 andwell worth the money. Thats $22 cheaper than DX store. I just got it today and wrote detailed review on LE forum.
http://www.laserenthusiast.com/forums/showthread.php?t=733

btw,
I don't want to start anything here, but I know people who ordered it from DX before me and still didn't get it. Also, I ordered 6 times this year from Kaidomain and my experience with them is 100% good so far. As for DX, I ordered only once from them (lens cleaning brush) that as "in stock" and I'm still waiting for them to resupply with this item so they can send it to me. Its been about 2 months now.

just my exerience..

cheers

WOW, so it is true.
LE - (L a s e r E n t h u s i a s t ) forum is still censored on here.

That sucks.

Can you post the review here? I get an error message about exceeding the amount of posts I can view and I don't feel like registering just to see the review.

not like there's any original content over there anyway

what ?? my review is not orignal... whats that mean? I just took bunch of pics and wrote it like 2 hours ago.

well, there is some good threads there, as well as great laserists hang out there just like here. Whats your point. No - don't wanna know, Don't wanna screw this thread up by developing this further.

I just think there should be no censorship, as its pain in the ars :-)) and unfair to members.

i wasn't meaning your review, but last time i checked that forum i saw nothing of real interest

LE was created in spite of LPF, and i saw no real reason of doing that

in any case they look like very nice lasers, I've been thinking about ordering one for myself

A lot of things are unfortunately done out of spite back and forth, and it used to be all one team of good people. I know most of them since much before LPF existed.
I find it just confusing to regular members. Oh well.

Back to subject..

If you are not looking for best of the best, but just a 150-200mW cheap affordable adjustable focus toy, this item is ideal. It is not cheaply built at all !

its amazing how much prices have gone down and its possible to build quality cheap high powered greenie!.

regards

Milos

great review! just looked at it.
so how well is it at burning? how long does it take to light a match (assuming it lights matches) (with or without black sharpie).
what does the beam look like at day/night...compared to a DX True NewWish pen (assuming youve owned one?)

I'm going to order this laser from KD, i hope mine will be good!
the laser does not come with a battery tho right? which battery did you buy?

EDIT: forgot to ask, does KD offer EMS shipping? or was that just fast air mail?

They do come with an included 18650 rechargeable. The included battery probably isn't the best quality so you should consider getting some better batteries for long term use.
According to KD the package includes.
Unprotected 18650 2400mAh
Laser Flashlight
Layard safety lock

Get these from dx and they should arrive before the KD laser.
