You betcha ! I am using the ROHM diodes for mine...almost out, too I'll split this off to the experiments and mods section so I don't hijack your thread any further !

A few of us here including SenKat did a lot of experimenting and toasting diodes over the last 6 months to make these ~180's. The ability to focus is a true feature not had with greenies. The beam isn't as impressive at night but OH Mutha -- They are torches !! AND no IR problems !!!
At this power, we sometimes rely on battery impedance to limit the current to the LD
