Hello everyone. I found this forum researching the 4x18650 battery box I just purchased. I was reading the thread and saw the question about what the mystery button does. I bought a similar box from a different ebay supplier. The description says to only use UNPROTECTED 18650 batteries in the box, since it has built in battery protection. After you insert the batteries, you are supposed to hit the button once to activate the protection circuit. As far as using protected batteries in it...i'm not sure what would happen. I charged me with some unrptected trustfires from DX and it stopped charging the batteries at 4.28v so the circuit must be working.
