Does anyone know if the new Wicked Laser Pulsar 125's can be modified. Also looking for someone who may be able to do the modification if it can be done.

you mean for higher output power? i probably wouldn't risk blowing the diode

i remember someone saying its possible to focus mod the pulsars to give better burning at distances not sure you'll have to search.

I too though i heard of a focus mod and in doing that it also had upped the output from 125mw to around 180 or 190mw. So hopefully more feedback from someone who has done this would be great.

Gentle nudge. ;) goes for asking a question too. When you ask a question please give as much info as you have. that way you'll be more likely to get the answer you're looking for.

Oh, and welcome to the forum. :)

oh a focus mod - people have done that many times - but this only aids in focusing, it does not magically add any power to the laser

i don't know if there's any info on this forum about it but one of the members may be able to explain it

I've done the mod quite a few times for various people, myself included. The focus mod lets you get the energy more focused at variable distances - making it an AMAZING, highly portable burning laser.

On the 2nd gen pulsars which were matte black, the 150mW units would often only put out 100-140mW stock, but after the series of modifications (focus mod, enlarged aperture, conductivity), they tended to hit 160-180mW levels.

The newest 3rd gen 125mW silver ones don't suffer the same aperture problem so modding them doesn't really add any power - just gives you the awesome focusing ability.

i believe the pulsar uses a aixiz diode housing. so take the end cap off and see whats there. may be a case of scraping away the glue

I haven't done the focus mod on the P125, but with a cap set, the thing burns great!  If the focus mod works half as good as the caps and you have more of a mechanical inclination than I have, it could really be worth it.  (Just be sure to use eye protection!)
Works more than twice as good as the caps ;)
