Those are just the lathe work, I still need to mill the slot for the diode and power lead as well as tap a hole for the set screw. You can see a close representation of what they will look like in the OP.
TJ, If the diode has a FAC lens then a standard aixiz lens might be able to focus them. That's the theory at least, I'll be testing a few of these and sending a few out to others to make sure before I make a bunch though.
Edit: I'm also not planning on adding the 2nd threaded hole for attaching a lead. While it's a good idea with aluminum, I plan on using copper so you would just be able to solder a lead directly to the module. I hate small taps with a passion and avoid them at all costs. Also, tapping that second hole would require another mill operation as well as making some sort of fixture to make sure the holes stay in line with each other. All of that stuff is time consuming and costly!
