I have a 532nm green laser, it works fine when I first turn it on, after some time (maybe about 1 minute) the beam start to split into 2 like the photo I attached, what are the possible cause of this?

Wow thats really weird I would probably go with either dirty lens or your module is stuffed.. by module I mean diode ( but since people like to get technical... I will call it a module!)....

does this only happen after a few mins.. does it happen when you focus the laser... if you turned it on and left it flat would this happen... is it a diy build??? (lens could also not be straight!)

Bit more info is required on this one!

this is just modehopping, let your laser cool down in between use and you should be fine.

My Optotronics was doing the exact same thing right after I installed fresh batteries. But it was doing it just a few seconds after being turned on. I sent it back last week.

My green lasers tend to mode hope when the battery starts to run low or they have been running for extended periods of time. Let your laser cool off and make sure its getting sufficient power and it should be fine.

Yeah, it happens only after i turn it on for roughly about 1 minute.

It's a Chinese brand 532nm, not sure if it's because of the battery, i will charge it up and try again..

Thanks Guys

It's either a battery or temperature issue. Check the sticky in this section (green lasers). It contains more info about this.
