when i was gonna buy a module it ask me if i wanted a 3 or 5VDC. which one should i get?(im new at this)

What kind of module? You mean an AixiZ module?
In this case, it doesn't matter, because you will be pulling out the diode anyway.

Well, you will need a lathe, and some metal blanks...
From there, it is pretty straightforward :P

how can you turn a piece of metal on a wood lathe?
